Ginger Herring, President and CEO of 1ˢᵗ Franklin Financial Corporation, was recently elected Chair of the American Financial Services Association (AFSA) at the association’s 101ˢᵗ Annual Meeting last week in Washington, D.C.
During her one-year term, Herring will preside over the AFSA Board and Executive Committee meetings, serve as an ex-officio member of all AFSA committees, and represent AFSA at industry and association-sponsored conferences and meetings.
She has served as President of 1ˢᵗ Franklin Financial Corporation since 2001 and became CEO in January 2015. She is also the owner of The Learning Tree Academy, a pre-school and after school child care center located in Toccoa, Georgia.
Herring has served on AFSA’s Independents Section Advisory Board, serving as chair in 2012, on the board of the AFSA Education Foundation (AFSAEF), serving as chair in 2016 and 2017, and on AFSA’s Professional Development Committee.
Additionally, Herring is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO GOLD) and is active with several networks through that membership. She has served on various community boards including Northeast Georgia CASA, Leadership Toccoa-Stephens County, Camp Fire USA of Georgia and is currently serving on the board for the Boys & Girls Club of Toccoa/Stephens County.
Herring holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia and is an active member of First United Methodist church of Toccoa, Ga.
