Ginger Herring elected chair of AFSA

Ginger Herring, President and CEO of 1st Franklin Financial Corporation, was recently elected Chair of the American Financial Services Association (AFSA) at the association’s 101st Annual Meeting last week in Washington, D.C.

During her one-year term, Herring will preside over the AFSA Board and Executive Committee meetings, serve as an ex-officio member of all AFSA committees, and represent AFSA at industry and association-sponsored conferences and meetings.

She has served as President of 1st Franklin Financial Corporation since 2001 and became CEO in January 2015. She is also the owner of The Learning Tree Academy, a pre-school and after school child care center located in Toccoa, Georgia.

Herring has served on AFSA’s Independents Section Advisory Board, serving as chair in 2012, on the board of the AFSA Education Foundation (AFSAEF), serving as chair in 2016 and 2017, and on AFSA’s Professional Development Committee.

Additionally, Herring is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO GOLD) and is active with several networks through that membership. She has served on various community boards including Northeast Georgia CASA, Leadership Toccoa-Stephens County, Camp Fire USA of Georgia and is currently serving on the board for the Boys & Girls Club of Toccoa/Stephens County.

Herring holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia and is an active member of First United Methodist church of Toccoa, Ga.

1st Franklin Financial Expands its Service in AL and TN

1st Franklin Financial President and CEO Ginger Herring recently announced an exciting expansion of 12 new branch offices in Tennessee and Alabama. “We are very excited to be expanding our services in the southwest part of Alabama, and continue our growth further in middle Tennessee,” said Herring. “These are two areas where we have wanted to have a presence, and we are glad the opportunity became available for us to take this step so quickly.”

Donation Made to Warrior Bonfire Program

warrior-bonfire-programRecently, 1st Franklin Financial Corporation made a donation of $50,000 to the Warrior Bonfire Program in Clinton, MS.

The Warrior Bonfire Program caters to Purple Heart Veterans through a communication therapy system. The program arrange trips comprised of small groups of veterans throughout the year to various parts of the country. The veterans are encouraged to speak about their experiences and the difficulties they have faced when dealing with the trauma of war. The organization receives no Federal or State funding, relying solely on donations to serve over 120 Purple Heart Veterans in their care.

Each year, 1st Franklin Financial looks for ways to support local organization in and around their branch office communities.
