How long does it take from the time I submit my application to when I find out whether I am approved for a loan?

If you apply online, your application will be transferred to your local 1st Franklin Financial office where the loan decision will be made.  One of our friendly staff will contact you to discuss your options, and you could have the money you need as soon as tomorrow!  However, if you are submitting your application during non-business weekend hours, your application will not be viewed until the following business Monday.

Can I apply for a loan online?

You can begin the application process electronically by clicking the “Apply Online” button.  In order to provide the personal service you deserve, one of our helpful staff will contact you within 2 business days to discuss your application and answer any questions.  You will need to have the following information available to begin your application:

  • The Social Security Number of you and any co-applicant
  • Your address and phone number
  • Income information for you and any co-applicant

Final loan decisions are made at your local 1st Franklin Financial office and are based on a variety of factors, including your credit history, payment history and ability to make monthly payments.

Can I call the branch before I am approved for a loan, or do I have to wait for them to call me first?

Once you apply online, you should receive a response that includes the contact information for the local branch that received your application. If you have questions, you may contact this branch directly at any time. However, it’s best to wait at least 24 hours to contact them to ensure that they have an opportunity to review your application.

Are there any charges for applying online?

No. There are no charges for beginning your application online for a 1st Franklin Financial loan, and you are under no obligation to accept the offer presented to you.


Can I call after regular business hours?

In order to provide you personal service, we do not use automated answering machines or services. However, our friendly staff will be happy to assist you during regular business hours.

Can I email my local office for information?

No. Due to strict privacy regulations, we are unable to communicate your personal loan information via email. This is done to protect your sensitive personal information. Please call or stop by your local office to discuss your loan.

How did you get my name for your mailing?

Pre-screened offers are based on information in your credit report obtained from the credit bureau. To stop receiving offers from us and other companies, call toll free 1-800-888-6786. (1-888-5-OPT-OUT) You may also contact Equifax directly at 1-888-567-8688, or mail them at Equifax Options, P O Box 740123, Atlanta, GA 30374-0123. Due to privacy regulations, we are not allowed to opt-out for you.

I don’t want to receive mailings from 1st Franklin Financial. How do I stop them?

It’s easy. Visit the “Contact Us” page and click “Remove From Mailing” at the top. Include the name and address exactly as it appears on the mailing you received. Please allow 6-8 weeks for your name to be removed. To stop mailings from us and other companies, please call the Opt-Out number provided there.

I don’t want to receive emails from 1st Franklin Financial. How do I stop them?

It’s easy. Just click the “Unsubscribe” link provided at the bottom of each promotional email message. This only applies to promotional emails and will not affect your receipt of electronic statements. You must login to your online account in order to change your electronic statement settings.

Are you associated with First Franklin Financial?

No. Since our founding in 1941, we have operated from our home office in Toccoa, Georgia. We have offices in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Although several financial institutions have similar names, we are uniquely identified by the use of the numeral “1” in our name; 1st Franklin Financial Corporation. We are not now, nor have we ever been associated with any other financial institution.

What are the loan office hours of operation?

1st Franklin Financial loan offices are open from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on Wednesday. We are also open for special Saturday hours during the Christmas holiday season.

How do I get more information about your loan products?

How is a 1st Franklin Financial loan different from a payday loan?

At 1st Franklin Financial is not a payday lender nor do we offer loans secured against a customer’s next paycheck.  We offer customers short-term, secured installment loans with payment plans that fit each customer’s need.

Will the loan interest rate stay the same throughout the life of the loan?

Every loan from 1st Franklin Financial has fixed rates, which means your rate will not change for the entire term of your loan.

What is the interest rate or APR (annual percentage rate) on a loan from 1st Franklin Financial?

The interest rate and the APR on your loan will depend on the type of loan you get, the amount and the repayment terms. Contact your local branch office and our staff will be happy to discuss interest rates and loan options available to you.

How long does it take to get an approval?

Automated approvals are available and applications not instantly approved are referred to the local branch where it is reviewed carefully and discussed with you to provide the best possible service to you and your customer.

Does the customer make payments at my location or the 1st Franklin’s location?

Customers will make their payments directly to 1st Franklin Financial relieving you of any work.  Customers can easily make payments online, at our location or through the mail. The choice is theirs.

What do I do to get started?

It’s easy!  Simply call the location nearest you and one of our friendly staff will be happy to give you all the details.

Do you offer after hour approvals?

With the Decision Power and DEALS programs, you can submit credit applications over the weekend or after office hours, improving your customer service. Decision Power is available 17 hours a day, from 7:00 am to 12:00 am (EST & CST) and DEALS is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

What type of items do you finance?

1st Franklin Financial finances all types of items including jewelry, furniture, appliances, lawn equipment, storage buildings, wheels and tires, computers, electronics and more!  Certain exclusions apply, so call the location nearest you for complete details.


What is the minimum/maximum amount that can be financed?

We offer financing on items from $300 to $10,000.

How do I make an Investment?

We make the process easy! Simply give us a call, and one of our friendly staff will provide all the information you need and answer all of your questions. Sales of Investments are made by Prospectus only and are strictly regulated. Therefore, purchases are not available online and you must speak with one of our representatives. That way, you can feel secure in the decision you make.

May I open an Investment Account in one of your branch locations?

Investment accounts may only be opened by Prospectus and through the Investment Center. If you wish to make an Investment purchase, all of the opening forms may be found on the Investment Center page. Please contact us at the numbers listed above so that we may assist you with the opening process.

Why do you require a picture ID to open an Investment?

Due to the USA Patriot Act, we are required to obtain a picture identification of our Investors, as well as a copy of the Social Security card for any minor listed on an Investment. We ask that our Investors send a copy of their Driver’s License to verify state residency for Debentures and Senior Demand Note purchases.

May I manage my 1st Franklin Investment online?

Yes! You may sign-up for Online Investment Services by clicking the “Account Login” link located at the top right of any page. Once registered, you can manage your Investments, view your history, make transfers between any of your Senior Demand Notes, view your online statements, and more!

What are the Investment Center hours of operation?

The Investment Center is open Monday – Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.  On Saturday, our Drive-thru is open from 8:30am – 12:00pm.
